My name is Jarrah Hatchett. I’m a photographer based in Byron Bay, working across people, places, music, and brand imagery.

While I have worked most of my life as a videographer (and still do), it wasn't until I picked up photography again that I realised how much I connected with it.

For me, its the tactility, and the way it forces you to slow down and pay attention. Shooting film, in particular, completely re-shaped how I see the world. Favouring intention, presence, and connection over excess.

I work with both film and digital, choosing the medium based on the feeling and pace a project calls for. The process matters, but the outcome always comes first.

Travel has always given me the most practice and momentum to improve my skills and style. Because of those experiences my work sits somewhere between documentation and personal observation. I try to create images that feel quiet on the surface, but carry a sense of scale and energy beneath.

I’m always open to conversations, collaborations, and projects still taking shape.

Thanks for being here and spending time with my work. If something resonates, I’d love to hear from you.
